Our SENIOR Pastor

Chris Gambos

Pastor Chris has served as senior pastor of New Salem Church since 2003. He earned a BA in Biblical studies from Liberty University, Lynchburg, VA and an MA in Counseling from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary, Wake Forest, NC.  Chris is originally from Steubenville, OH. After graduation, he joined the U.S. Navy and served four years. He continued his service in the Army National Guard for two years while studying at Liberty University.  It wasn’t until after his time in the Navy that Chris desired to go into the ministry and accept the call of God in his life.

Bill Kolb

He attended the Baptist Bible Seminary and College in Clarks Summit, PA and received his Bachelor of Science in Bible/Pastoral Studies. He was the Youth Pastor and Worship Minister of Emmaus Baptist Church from 1998 to 2013. He also served as Youth Pastor, Bible Teacher, and Worship Leader for the Bethel Baptist Church in Lancaster, California.

Associate Pastor

Tripp Harmon

Pastor Tripp came to New Salem in 2021. He was born and raised in NC and has served NC churches since his call to ministry in 1991. Pastor Tripp was head Pastor of Pittsboro Baptist Church from 2002 - 2019. In addition to his ministry at New Salem Tripp teaches high school at Haw River Christian Academy.

Tripp earned a BA in Christian Ministries from Campbell University, M.Div from Campbell Divinity School and a Doctorate of Ministry from Southern Evangelical Seminary. He and his wife Amy have three children, Karlie, Grayson and Isaac.
